Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

As an Occupational Therapist, I specialize in working with clients who live with severe and persistent mental illness, collaborating with clients and their teams to create clear pathways to wellness.

We implement strategies for self-development, planning, and goal setting around everyday activities. This helps clients use their day-to-day experiences to move forwards in their recovery.

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

The path to recovery from a Traumatic Brain Injury can be difficult to navigate due to its complexity. Cognitive rehabilitation, sensory integration, planning and pacing, stress and anxiety management, and behavioural activation are pivotal to wellness after a TBI.

With Occupational Therapist intervention, an individualized program is designed to ensure the client returns to their meaningful occupations including work, education, driving, homemaking, leisure activities and more.

I am skilled in assessing occupational performance to ensure the recovery plan is aligned with the client's multifaceted needs.

Veterans Affairs & RCMP

Preferred Service Provider with Medavie Blue Cross

As an Occupational Therapist who mainly works in this field, I like to slow down the pace of the assessment phase to understand the Veteran's needs and develop a comprehensive plan that is collaborative. I am skilled in the areas of mental health disorders including PTSD, generalized anxiety and depression, sleep disturbances, traumatic brain injuries, and chronic pain. As an OT, I focus on meaningful activities, occupational scheduling and a strong listening ear to support the Veteran and their family on the path of recovery. I strive to enable Veteran's to live a meaningful life.

Clinical Case Management Services

When a client has a complex rehabilitation treatment plan, there is often multiple facets, including family doctors, rehabilitation professionals, various specialists and family members. This large “team” can sometimes feel disjointed due to the busy nature of the private and public healthcare systems.

As case manager, I can co-ordinate, to ensure the therapeutic plan is client centred, through communication with the various health practitioners and carers, ultimately creating a collaborative interdisciplinary team.

Client Centred Care is our priority

Occupational Therapy Services can be provided in the community, at the client’s home, or through our secure and confidential online tele-health platform.  All clients begin with a 15 minute consultation in order to gather information to prepare the assessment.  Once the client has been assessed, we collaborate to develop a treatment plan.  All appropriate team members are included—family doctor, rehabilitation team members, third party insurance providers, and family members. Treatments and assessments continue until we have achieved the treatment goals. Prior to full discharge, a final Community Involvement Treatment Plan is developed and implemented to ensure the client is able to maintain progress and achieve further goals.
